The rich history of Cafe Christa coincides with the birth of the Bavarian Village during the 1960's and 1970's. This charming restaurant, originally owned by Heinz and Christa Ulbricht, appropriately received it's name, Cafe Christa. Heinz Ulbricht designed the Corner Hardware Store for Bob Rogers and Ted Price, the driving force behind adapting the Bavarian theme to dying Leavenworth.

July 1, 1986, the Delvo family purchased the restaurant and again ran the business until leasing it to Scott and Karen Moore, in March of 1994, and retained it once again November of 1997. For several years Jon Delvo owned and operated Cafe Christa. Jon studied culinary art and learned the German language during his two years in Germany. During his management of Cafe Christa, he totally changed the menu adapting many authentic Austrian and German selections. He turned the restaurant over to his sister, Julie, as he prepared to pursue other interests. After managing Cafe Christa for one year, Julie felt the obligation to spend more time in her store, Das Meisterstuck, and turned Cafe Christa over to her sister Jori summer of 2000.

Jori Delvo lived in Europe for two years and traveled extensively throughout Europe and specifically Bavaria, which afforded great opportunity to be familiar with German culture and particularly preparation and serving German dishes.
